WORLDL!T for Transcendent Culture

The best movements come from a cause of the heart.

WORLDL!T is a movement whose aim is global celebration within Charlotte via youthful and vibrant exchange. As the city's go-to for internationally based nightlife and entertainment events, this space obligatorily thrives on openness and intention. Similar to how your World Literature course used multinational manifestations of intellect to expand your mind, WORLDL!T participates as a tool for growth-- by getting you dancing to Indonesian Hip Hop, casually using Spanish slang, and incorporating foods like Doro Wat in your weekly meals.

" Our mission is to embrace the diaspora of peoples from around the world, celebrate those cultures, and promote cultural exchange by amplifying the awareness of the spectrum --entertainment and nightlife that can help achieve that goal."

Brandi Weaver's life has been a series of experiences that pushed her to create WORLDL!T. Seeing other parts of the world at an early age, her mind and

palate naturally expanded to a global context. This, in conjunction with her love of music, set the tone early for how her soul continuously expressed itself. From performing in a Samba dance group after falling in love with Brazilian culture, to producing underground Hip Hop mixtapes with local artists, Brandi craved an outlet in which her soul could run with music and performance, and feel the love of both national and international cultures. Thus, WORLDL!T was born.

BLK MRKT acknowledges WORLDL!T and its ability to unite the global human experience in a way that liberates our ideas of what we believe we can enjoy in the realm of nightlife and entertainment. In joining the movement, you access events and young fly people from around the world who are just like you. Your awareness is expanded -- and assumptions shattered -- as you not even notice that you've seamlessly incorporated Chow Mane, Burna Boy, and Cherrie into regular rotation on your favorite playlist.

A true example of a movement is one that shifts not just your way of thinking, but your lifestyle. Bringing the world to us, one event, one post, one interaction at a time. Breaking this narrow-minded idea that one needs to travel the world in order to connect and celebrate with varying cultures. As the famed WORLDL!T saying goes "Across the world could be across the street." The world is vast, colorful, and complex -- but it does not have room for separation.
